Oh No He Didn’t!

So, Jesse Jackson seems to be upset by Barack Obama’s appearances at black churches where Obama criticizes black fathers for being absent. I’m not old enough to really remember Jesse Jackson’s agenda back in the day, but wasn’t he pushing for some of the same responsibility and change in the black community? Shouldn’t Jesse Jackson be happy to pass the torch to a new generation, to someone who has embraced the black community and wants to move it forward? I don’t get it, it just makes me want to ask Jesse Jackson one critical question. Jealous much?

…Reverend Jackson is reported to have said that Senator Obama was “talking down to black people”, and referred to blacks as “niggers” when he said Senator Obama was telling them “how to behave”.

The network declined to release the full transcript of the July 6 show and did not air the comments.

Mr Jackson – who is travelling in Spain – apologised in a statement yesterday for “hurtful words”, but didn’t offer specifics. “I am deeply saddened and distressed by the pain and sorrow that I have caused as a result of my hurtful words. I apologise again to Senator Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, their children as well as to the American public,” he said in a written statement.

“There really is no justification for my comments and I hope the Obama family and the American public will forgive me.

“I also pray that we, as a nation, can move on to address the real issues that affect the American people.”
